This course (Executive Summary) is designed to provide an overview on epidemiology and the Internet for medical and health related students around the world. The concept of the course is described in the British Medical Journal as the Global Health Network University. Lecture style is described in the Nature Medicine as Hypertext Comic Books.
Epilex Version 3 - A Windows based multilingual lexicon of epidemiological terms
Epilex contains translations of many epidemiological terms in Catalan, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Serbian and Spanish. Any two languages can be viewed simultaneously, with one in alphabetical order. There are search and print facilities. You can build your own translation and share it with others It is is free of charge.
Click the Download button on the Epilex web site either to run the installation over the internet or download a self extracting EXE file to your hard disk. If you download to the hard disk, place the file in a directory you can find easily and click on its name in Windows Explorer to install Epilex. You can then run the lexicon from the Start>All Programs menu.
Meta-analysis add-in for Excel
The MIX software is a comprehensive meta-analysis add-in for Excel with extensive educational interactive tutoring. It is especially meant for students and teachers, although it provides professional numerical and graphical output and, besides analyzing the built-in data sets, one can also enter one's own data. Currently the software is oriented towards causal meta-analyses or synthesis of etiological or therapeutic studies (diagnostic methods are not included). Graphical output is extensive and changes with changes in the analysis via the graphical user interface. It currently works on Windows PCs with Excel 2000 or later.
Studying Populations is a computer assisted learning package for epidemiological methods. It is suitable for anyone working in health sciences including medical students, Masters students, public health practitioners and clinicians. It covers many basic epidemiological concepts in a set of over 80 interactive exercises and simulations. It is easily adapted to local situations using software available free on the Internet.

Epidemiology modules on the web
This site contains samples of three learning modules about confounding. At the Division of Human Nutrition, Wageningen University, Netherlands, this material is used to assist BSc and MSc students in studying the concept of confounding. Other modules are also available on request.
EpiData - A program for controlled and validated data entry
EpiData was developed for data entry as an update of the principles used in
the DOS program EpiInfo v6. It is an all in one program (one exe file) for
windows (95/98/NT/2000) and Macintosh (with RealPc emulation). EpiData uses
EpiInfo v6 format for files (Qes, Rec and Chk). Data can be exported to CSV,
(comma separated data), dBase, Excel and Stata v4-6. Simple (range, legal,
date) and enhanced control of logical consistency across variables, jumps
based on the value of entry and calculations during data entry is easy to
define.
New features are: extended documentation facilities; "standard" Windows
interface; printing via windows printers; autocompletion of year or century
in dates; variable and value labels included in Stata exports. The program
(unpack the zip file and run setup.exe) and various introduction and help
files are available free of charge. The program and documentation are in
English.
